Future Rhode Island Ram Tyrese Martin had a solid outing at the Coaches for the Cure event that was held in Richmond, VA. Martin finished the evening with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists as his team took the victory over Blue Ridge with a final score of 67-48.
“I think I played alright,” said Martin. “I mean we won so that’s all that really matters.”
The Massanutten product knew he could have played better overall and he spoke about some aspects of his game that he wants to improve on.
“My motor, playing hard all the time, and being aggressive all the time,” said Martin.
For people that haven’t seen Martin play, he described his game and touched on what he will bring to Dan Hurley and Rhode Island next year.
“Just an aggressive up-tempo guy that’s gonna play defense on the best player and I’m gonna attack the best player on the court and just go at everybody.”
On Rhode Island, Martin stated, “My aggressiveness that they already have and the up-tempo style they already play… up and down, playing defense full court and just what I do and that’s just perfect for me right there. As a freshman, whatever they need me to do, I’m gonna do.”
