Phenom Hoop Report held an event over the Thanksgiving holiday as eleven teams came to Fayetteville Academy to compete in the Feast of Champions. Here are some quick notes and things that were learned.

Quick Notes

·      Fayetteville Academy’s big man Emmanuel Izunabor rebounded the soul out of the basketball against Cape Fear Christian as he snatched 22 rebounds. The 6-foot-9 prospect has great timing around the basket and brings a very strong presence inside the paint. He currently carries an offer from East Carolina.

·      Gardner-Webb signee Jaylen Alston has a knack of attacking the basket and his upper body strength allows him to finish though contact and he showed his ability to consistently draw fouls. He recorded 29 points against South Brunswick.

·      Vanderbilt signee Aaron Nesmith showed his ability to score from all three levels against Village Christian. He took advantage of his ridiculous length as he scored over both smaller and bigger defenders. He finished the game with 25 points.

·      Derrick Quansah, a 6-foot-11 big man who plays for Village Christian, outworked his competition inside though out the entire game against Porter Gaud. Quansah ran the floor exceptionally well, fought for rebounds inside, and scored second chance points.

Other standouts

Josiah James (Porter Gaud | Class of 2019)

Williams Onyeodi (Fayetteville Academy | Class of 2019)

Travion McCray (Village Christian | Class of 2019)
