Four-star forward Ian Steere has committed to NC State, he tells Elevate Hoops.

“Well it’s close to home and I get to represent my home state,” said Steere. “The staff is great, everyone is genuine and honest and it feels like a big family.”

“Their main message to me was the immediate amount of minutes I would be playing as a freshman and how perfectly I fit into their system. Coach (Kevin) Keatts has big plans for State and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” he continued about his decision.

Steere took an official visit to NC State the last weekend of September, as he seemed to have enjoyed his time in Raleigh.

“I loved the atmosphere and intensity of the practices,” said Steere about his official visit. “Also got to know the coaching staff and spent quality time with them,” he added.

The 6-foot-9 forward discussed what he could bring to the Wolfpack starting from day one.

“Size, versatility, and toughness,” said Steere. “I’m going to come in day one with an attitude that State is going to win it all and I’m going to help as much as I can.”
