Class of 2018 forward Nate Roberts has cut his list to five schools: Washington, Nebraska, UConn, Syracuse, and Wake Forest. The Washington D.C. native spoke about each school and how the program made the final list.

Washington: “I chose Washington because me and Coach (Mike) Hopkins has had a close relationship since he was back at the Cuse (Syracuse) and he’s just believed in me ever since. He has been honest from the jump and has a plan set for me to help me develop as a person and player. They also produce pros so that’s another plus.”

Wake Forest: “I chose Wake because even though they came a little late, they showed genuine care for me. Coach (Jamill) Jones and I have had a strong relationship over the years since I was going into my 9th grade year back when he was with VCU and Coach (Danny) Manning is a legendary coach and player in this game that has played my position so that’s great to have on your side.”

Syracuse: “I chose the Cuse because they were a part of the picture from when my recruitment started to take off and Coach (Adrian) Autry and I have had a very close relationship from the start and Coach (Jim) Boehiem and I have talked quite a few times and he believes in me and thinks I would be great in his system.”

Nebraska: “I chose the Cornhuskers because also like Wake, they were a late bloomer but they have been recruiting me pretty hard and Coach (Kenya) Hunter and Coach (Tim) Miles have said great things about where I would fit in the program and their plan for me as well and helping me reach the highest level.”

UConn: “I chose UConn because Coach (Dwayne) Killings and I have been building a relationship for quite some time now and when I went on an official, I spoke with Coach (Kevin) Ollie and he had great things to say on what UConn can bring to the table for me.”

The Team Melo product stated that he’s not sure when he will set his official visits as of yet.
