New Jersey Force (Elite) point guard Kenny Jones had a very solid outing for the first day of the Spring Showdown (Manalapan, NJ). The 6-foot-1 prospect created multiple opportunities for others, got wherever he wanted on the floor, and attacked the basket with a purpose.
The 2018 guard brings a lot to the table every time he hits the floor with his team.
“My strengths are getting to the basket and finishing and definitely getting my teammates open to get them good shots. I also want to work on my pull-up jump shot.”
In terms of recruiting, Jones has taken visits to some schools and feels like three schools in particular are coming for him the hardest. He listed Princeton, Monmouth, and NJIT.
The Princeton Tigers appear to show heavy interest in Jones.
“Their message, to me, has been that I’ll come in my freshman year and get good minutes and be a good ball-handler and facilitator to the team.”
The playmaking guard took a visit to Monmouth and spoke highly of the experience.
“Their pitch has been the same thing and the visit went really well,” he stated. “They have a really nice campus and they have great kids.”
Jones seems to have a good feel for NJIT and their campus.
“The visit went well. I toured the campus and they were working on a couple of new buildings. One was the new stadium that is almost done now and Coach (Kevin) Driscoll sent me some pictures of the new construction, he stated.” They want me to come in and play significant minutes, be a good facilitator and scorer.”
