Four-star prospect Robert Phinisee gave his commitment to Archie Miller and Indiana on Saturday, he informed Elevate Hoops.
Coach Archie Miller made the 6-foot-1 point guard a priority as he contacted him immediately when he landed the job.
“I knew right when he (Archie Miller) got the job I was one of the first guys he reached out to,” said Phinisee. “He came to my school and showed me how he plans to turn the program around and get to the national championship. I just really feel like that was the type of offense I wanted to play in and I feel like he’s going to get the job done.”
The Indiana native thinks he can bring a true point guard type of player to the Hoosiers.
“I say leadership and really being a point guard,” said Phinisee when asked about what he can bring to the program. “Just getting everybody in the right positions, just leading the team, and just doing everything I can to win.”
Phinisee spoke about what’s next for him before he heads to Bloomington.
“I mean being the best player I can be,” said Phinisee. “Translating my game to the next level and just doing everything I can to bring another national championship to IU.”
