Four-star prospect Immanuel Bates committed to NC State on Friday, he told Elevate Hoops.

“My relationship with the coaching staff is tremendous,” said Bates on his college decision. “When I went down for my official visit, I had a great time with the team. I felt comfortable with the team and just the energy that was given through the fans was like no other.”

He went into detail about what he enjoyed about his recent official visit.

“Just the atmosphere all around from the students to the teachers was great,” said Bates. “Even the newer facilities like the (Talley) Student Union was great to be in and see.”

At 6-foot-9, Bates was a standout at the UAA All-America Camp this past summer as he showed his ability to block shots and rebound well on both ends. The Northwood Temple (NC) big man spoke about what he thinks he will bring to the team.

“I’ll be bringing some more energy to the team with my presence on the defensive end for shot blocking and constantly improving my offensive side everyday along with my motor and intensity.”
