Quentin Grimes has made a statement when it comes to what he can bring each time on the floor. As the 6-foot-4 Grimes is no question one of the best point guards in the 2018 class, he discussed his recent experience in Italy and the latest surrounding his recruitment.
Grimes spoke on what it meant to him playing overseas in Europe.
“Yeah, It was definitely one of my best experiences so far,” said Grimes. “Just playing basketball and going up against players that are five years older than you; the physicality is much different and just the whole time zone you really got to get use to it.”
He touched on what he learned from playing against older players as well.
“They definitely have a great IQ and just really doing the little things like boxing out, talking and really being encouraging on offense and defensive side.”
Jumping to recruiting, Grimes broke down the latest as he hopes to narrows things down.
“I’m really just trying to narrow things down and having a little trouble with some schools right now but really just trying to get everything fixed before the live period,” stated Grimes. As he stated, “trouble” he went into detail of what he meant, “Just some schools that have come into the mix lately and really trying to push hard so I’m really just trying to make sure I know where I want to go.”
The five-star prospect named some programs that are recruiting him hard and some that are new to the scene.
“Kansas, Baylor, A&M (Texas), LSU came into the mix a little bit, Indiana’s coming in a little bit, and some others.”
He stated what would be next for him and his recruiting process.
“I definitely want to cut my list down to around seven or eight and I kind of have a good idea of the schools but I’m really just trying to make sure I have a good understanding and a good fit of where I should go.”
