2019 guard De’Vion Harmon has committed to Oklahoma, he tells Elevate Hoops.
“From the coaching staff all the way to the fan base and people on and around the campus… It’s amazing,” said Harmon about the Sooners program. “I’ve been down there six times and every time I go down to Norman, I have so much fun.”
The Sooners coaching staff has been honest with Harmon since day one. They explained what his role would be on the team.
“I’ve been straight forward since the first day they offered me,” said Harmon. “Their message to me is that the ball will be in my hands when I come in and I can be their point guard that leads Oklahoma to the national title.”
Harmon and current Sooners point guard Trae Young seem to be very close friends as Young gave the 6-foot-1 prospect some advice for the future. Harmon quickly shared what Young had to say to him.
“His advice to me was just to be myself and be who I am,” said Harmon about Young’s advice. “Keep a small circle because there are so many people in this world that want to see me fall,” he added.
Harmon becomes the first pledge in the 2019 class for Lon Kruger and the Sooners.
