Five star prospect Bryan Antoine of Ranney School and Team Rio had a strong outing at the Empire Invitational as he recorded 25 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals against Westtown School. While Antoine earned the win and MVP against a very talented team without his partner Scottie Lewis as he sat out due to a minor ankle sprain.
“I think I played a complete game today,” said Antonie of his performance. “I was also boxing out and getting my teammate involved.”
The elite level athlete spoke about what he is currently working on to take his game to the next level.
“Coming off screens,” he said. “Trying to get to the basket as much as I can and trying to work on everything… ball handling, passing, and things like that.”
As mentioned before, Lewis sat out with a minor ankle sprain and he stated that he should be back in about a week in a half. Regardless, Antoine walked out with the win and went into detail about playing without Lewis.
“Obviously I wish I had Scottie (Lewis) on the floor with me,” he said. “But it showed that others stepped up.”
Jeff Capel and Jon Scheyer were front and center today for Antoine. The stud talked about the latest with his recruitment and programs he has recently heard from the most.
“It’s been really calm and collective so far,” he said. “It hasn’t been that hectic the past couple of months but I’ve been hearing from a couple of schools here and there.”
“Duke, Villanova, Rutgers, Kentucky, and Florida,” stated Antoine about the programs coming after him the hardest.
