Class of 2018 guard Brendan Adams of Calvert Hall and Team Melo has committed to Rhode Island, he tells Elevate Hoops.

“Their staffs message has just been that I can come in and make a big impact on a good team early on,” said Adams. “My biggest goal for college is to come and make a big impact, win games, and set my college career off on the right foot,” he added.

At 6-foot-4, Adams believes that his scoring ability will help the Rams out tremendously.

“I feel like I can bring scoring and play making to the team,” said Adams. “I think everyone knows how I can score and I believe my scoring will transfer well to the college level but I think I’m also a better playmaker than people think and I can bring that to Rhode Island.”

Aside from his scoring, Adams pointed out aspects in his game that he would like to improve on.

“Some things I want to work on before I get to school is my body,” said Adams. “That has to be there first to make that a smooth transition and then I gotta make sure, mentally, I’m ready for that as well. I think I work hard so if those two things are there, my talent wont be an issue.”

Dan Hurley and Rhode Island have now landed their fifth commitment in the 2018 class, as Adams will join Jermaine Harris, Tyrese Martin, Amir Harris, and Dana Tate.
